Never Been Kissed

Okay, so I've been kissed. The jig is up - I have two children. That's not why I titled this Never Been Kissed. I am referring to the name of the movie and my new life! In Never Been Kissed, Drew Barrymore's character, Josie Geller, (by the way, that movie is where I fell in love with the name Josie) is 26 years old and does an undercover report on being in high school so then goes back to high school and has to fit in and everything. I laugh thinking about that movie every day! The other day as I was confidently walking into my first class of the day I tripped and spilled coffee down the front of my new tan top and I thought - that was so Josie Geller! Hi, I'm Cathy Cooke - I'm a college student - I'm here with my fellow college students - hi guys! Now I'm not a totally out of date gal, but my days of wearing sweatshirts, tank tops, and jeans with holes in them are over. I like to look nice. No, I'm not sporting any Hillary Clinton matching pantsuits, but I do like to look like I've washed my clothes before I wore them! ;-) I so wish I could have a hidden camera in my cute, gray messenger bag to show everyone how weird it is to be in a classroom again after so many years! I had an "old moment" the other day... we had a break in my Monday night class and the boy next to me started chatting with me, he had been at my parents' house for Transfer student night, so I was asking where he had transferred from and he said Rockford, IL (that reminded me of you, rachel) and then said, that his parents were both originally from Warsaw and had grown up here. Then he said, yea, they were here a LOOOOONNNNNG time ago... back when they used that old middle school and ivy tech building as their high school! I slumped down a bit in my chair as I said, Oh, that's where I went to high school too. HA! I'm actually closer in age to the Professors! Two of the professors in the teacher's education dept were ladies I went to college with before!!! Well, that's all I have time for now. Hope to fill you in later about life as an adult student!
