You Give Me Fever

Okay - I forgot to share something funny that happened last night. As I was sitting in Walgreens waiting for my prescriptions and shivering with a temp of 102.9, I noticed that the song on the overhead speaker was, "I'm hot-blooded, check it and see. I've got a fever of 103..." That made me smile.

Yuck

Please pray for me. I started feeling icky yesterday afternoon so I went to the doctor last night. I have influenza, bronchitis, and an ear infection! I almost never get sick, so this is throwing me off. I feel miserable! Thanks for praying.

Healing!

Psalm 34:17-20
"The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
He guards all his bones;
Not one of them is broken.
Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.
The Lord redeems the soul of His servants.
And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned."

I read this passage for my devotions today, and this is a summary of the devotional that went with it:

God promises to be there for the healing of the raw edges of our souls. In His incomparable love for His creation, He promises to be near us in our brokenness. He also promises never to leave us. Many of us feel guilty that we need human support. But Jesus, before He was crucified also expressed a need for human support. He stopped to pray alone at the garden of Gethsemane but then asked Peter, James, & John to go further into the garden with Him, telling them He was deeply distressed. Jesus prayed, He sought the support and comfort of God. He also sought the support and comfort of His disciples. The example of Jesus encourages us to pray as well as request human presence. Galatians 6:2 tells us to bear one another's burdens.

I wanted to share this because I'm so thankful for all of the love, support, and comfort that I have felt from God, but also from my friends and family. THANK YOU!

Sweet Siblings

Had to share that last night after I dropped Theo off at church for Awana, I took Josie to the doctor. She has strep throat, poor baby. When we finished at the doctor it was perfect timing because it was time to pick Theo up after church. When we were driving away, Theo said, "How did Josie do at the doctor?" I told him that Josie had strep throat. He said, "Aww, my poor sweet sister! Did she cry when they looked in her throat?" I said that actually she had done really well and didn't cry at all. He said to Josie, "Oh my, you are my brave girl, aren't you?" And when I turned around to look back, they were holding hands. So sweet!

Theo's Story

Theo wanted me to videotape him telling a story last night, although he was in the bathtub when he was telling it, but I was careful to not tape anything inappropriate! :-) Hope you enjoy my little boy's imagination!!!

My Ladies Came For A Visit!

Two weekends ago, my six bestiest friends came for a weekend visit! The seven of us were my "girls group" in TN and we spent every Monday night together for ladies night! We had a wonderful girls weekend and a huge thanks to my parents for taking care of the kids, ended up having a relatively child-free weekend! It was awesome! My sweet Rachel even flew in from Philadelphia, and she and Kim surprised me because I thought they weren't going to be able to make it! What a sweet surprise! So here we are - by the way, this is the first time in a long time that we've had a picture of all seven of us together -

The Incredible Theo!

The other night Theo decided that since he was in his green jammies, that he would be the Incredible Hulk! Notice the underwear over his jammies...

The kids love to excercise and Theo especially has been wanting to do my excercise tape each day, and they just looked so adorable that I had to tape them. Of course since i did, Theo thinks he's the star of an excercise video! They were so cute! By the way - excuse the mess on the floor - Josie the destroyer struck again!

Snow Day!

We had a snow day today here and enjoyed a relaxing day. I didn't have to babysit and we didn't have any obligations, so it was a very enjoyable day! Here are some pictures of our fun day and of the beautiful snow!

A Messy Day.

Well - today was a messy day for me. For very many reasons. Today I got numerous text messages that saddened my soul. How do we as Believers think that we can make decisions that are so against His will for our lives? And yet we all make them. We are truly a fallen race which is why we need God so. If it weren't for His mercy, how could we go on?

Another reason why this was a messy day is because I was taking care of three small children wtih diarhea. Wow. Sorry - I know that is too much information, but let me just tell you - I've had enough poop for one day. I've been babysitting for a family with 3 boys, so including my two I have a 6 year old, a 5 year old, a 3 year old, a 2 year old, and a 1 year old to take care of. Let me just tell you that there is no sitting still or break in any way with this crew. They keep me on my toes.

Today, my Bible passage is I Peter 3: 13-17: "And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed. 'And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.' But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil."

Happy Sunday Morning!

Well - my little Josie girl was sick last night so she and I are home together this morning while everyone is at church. It's another beautiful day with sunshine! Still cold, but the sun makes everything feel more warm! I am reading an awesome book right now called, "Love & Respect". I wish I had read this years ago and I highly recommend it to anyone. It talks all about how a woman's deepest need is love and a man's deepest need is respect. Sounds logical, but harder to put into practice since women are wired to love and men are wired to respect. So showing this to the opposite gender is more of a challenge. Anyway, a good book. I'm learning a lot.

Josie has successfully emptied the toy box this morning. She is the fastest destroyer of a room that I know. Does anyone remember the older cartoon Superfriends? Theo got a double disc DVD set of this show for Valentine's Day and has been watching it a lot. I like it much better than the newer shows because the newer ones are so dark! So what in the world is up with the Wondertwins? Why do they look like elves? It's a bit strange.

So - what was your favorite cartoon as a child? I think mine was Scooby-Doo. Theo likes Scooby-Doo too, so we've had fun watching it together. We especially like the New Scooby-Doo Movies - "new" being a loose term as they were made in the 70's. They had guests like Sonny & Cher, and Mama Cass, and Don Knotts, and the Harlem Globetrotters. Theo is like - Who are those people? Cute! Oh my gosh - my daughter just asked if she could watch Barney. My kids have never liked Barney. That guy drives me nuts. Actually it's the kids who are on there who really drive me nuts. Okay she just changed her mind and wants to watch Night At The Museum. I like that one. Can you tell I'm a bit bored today?

Welcome To My New Blog!

Glad you could join me. I'll try to post pictures later. Wow - life can change in an instant. And somehow we are forced to ride a rollercoaster that we didn't agree to. "Jane - get me off this crazy thing!!!" (a quote from George Jetson - he's quite the philosopher) Anyway. Back to life. Life changes quickly. One day you wake up in your home and everything is different. But guess what never changes - GOD! He is unchanging, and can be depended on EVERY day to stay the same. If it wasn't for that - I may have lost my mind! Why just yesterday my good friend Karin called, and was singing one of our Strong Tower Bible Church classics to me - "Hold to His hand. God's unchanging hand..." Thanks Karin! Can I just tell everyone in the world that I have the BEST friends and family out there - THE BEST!!! I feel overwhelmingly blessed by how much love and support I feel every day. And the prayers are awesome. Keep them up! I feel them daily! Can you tell I've had a good day today? The sun was shining this morning as I was driving to the grocery store and I just couldn't help but say, "Thank You God!!!" - there was a little ray of sunshine shining down on my minivan! ;-) This may end up being my blog where I share my daily struggles and joys. Hope no one minds.
